FAQ

Each item is handmade entirely by me. No two items are alike and may have distinctive marks that are a natural result of the handmade process. Due to the nature of handcrafted metalwork it is normal that there will be some variations and slight imperfections. I think it gives each piece added uniqueness and character.

Sustainability:

I make every effort to source all of my materials from ethical suppliers. Any leftover/ scrap metal is reused by myself, or sent back to the supplier to be recycled. The stones I use are all purchased from independant lapidary artists or small businesses.

For shipping items, I strive to use recyclable or reusable materials including the boxes, bags and padded mailers. The padded mailers are compostable. I reuse packaging materials whenever I can.

In my studio, I use non-toxic or less toxic alternatives to jewelry making products whenever possible. An example of this is that I use vinegar and salt to pickle (clean) my metals instead of highly toxic compounds.

I am by no means perfect, but I am always looking for more ways that I can reduce my environmental impact in metalsmithing and in my everyday life. It is my aim to continue to research, learn and implement sustainable practices at StarGaze Studio.

Jewelry Care:

Your jewelry was built to last however, natural stones can be delicate. Following some simple recommendations will help to ensure your jewelry lasts. It is recommended to remove jewelry prior to swimming, dishwashing, gardening etc. Silver will naturally tarnish over time but can be cleaned with a soft microfiber cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or cleaners on your jewelry as they can damage natural stones and remove the patina of your jewelry.

Ring Size:

It is best to have your ring size measured by a jeweler. I do not offer resizing of rings so it is important that you know your ring size and purchase accordingly.
