A little peek into my home studio.
I’m always gathering bits and pieces from the outside world and bringing them in to nestle amongst my houseplants and photographs. Tiny vignettes, bits of inspiration and things I find lovely to look at. My studio, being my creative haven, is no exception. A place to dream and lose myself in hours of making.
Humans, I like to think, are a bit like crows or bower birds with our affinity for pretty trinkets. We love to collect beautiful objects and thoughtfully place them throughout our homes. Some take the maximalist approach while others only decorate with a few carefully chosen objects. In either case, these knickknacks usually hold special meaning and memories for us. Or sometimes maybe we just think they are pretty.
Personally, I have a tendency towards perhaps a little too much maximalism at times. I might be more of a pack rat than a crow 😂 But I love all of my treasures and accept that I’ll always be a collector of pretty things.
